Coppell council hears plan to launch ‘Village Collective’ to help residents 50+ age in place

Coppell city staff presented a plan Sept. 9 for Village Collective, a membership-and-volunteer program designed to help residents age in place by providing practical services, social opportunities and a resource directory. Melanie Eichner, village coordinator, told the council the program will launch Oct. 25 at the Senior and Community Center and will open online membership and volunteer signups immediately.
The program will offer contractor referrals, home-maintenance assistance for small tasks, youth and volunteer transportation, and wellness-check phone calls. “Members are residents of Coppell who are 50 years or older,” Eichner said, and the initial membership fee is $60 per year.
