The Haslet Economic Development Corporation meeting heard several community announcements including a Labor Day closure, a movie-in-the-park and a revised bulk-trash pickup schedule. City leaders said city offices will be closed Sept. 1, 2025, in observance of Labor Day. City staff announced a movie-in-the-park at Nance Field on Friday, Sept. 19, with food trucks arriving at 6:30 p.m. and the feature showing after dark. The city also scheduled National Night Out for Oct. 7, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Haslet Community Park and directed residents to the city website for details. On solid-waste service changes, staff told the board that bulk-trash pickup will now occur on the first and third Wednesday of each month; board members noted that properly prepared items may also be collected on regular bulk-trash days if they are cut and tied as required. The announcements were presented during the EDC’s items-of-community-interest portion of the meeting. City staff did not provide additional details about any changes to other service schedules during the meeting; residents were directed to check the city website for full guidance and event information.
