Staff described the project as full-depth reconstruction to install roughly 3,300 square yards of 8-inch reinforced concrete at the intersection, replace about 5,500 square yards of adjacent asphalt and improve pedestrian crossings at the intersection. The timeline given is 120 working days. Funding was identified from the street division maintenance of infrastructure account and roadway impact fee service area 2.
Council members asked whether median or turning improvements onto Maple are included (they are not) and sought clarification about concurrent utility work; staff said water-line replacement was occurring separately. Staff said the project will include pedestrian-access safety improvements.
No formal award vote was taken during the workshop; staff will return to council with award documentation for formal action.
