The Alpharetta City Council adopted a resolution establishing an annual membership program for the city’s adult activity offerings at the Preston Ridge Community Center and the adult activity center. The program will begin Jan. 1, 2026; Alpharetta residents will participate at no cost and nonresidents will pay $40 annually.
Parks staff explained the membership does not change fees for individual programs that are already fee‑based; it provides access to the centers’ program offerings under the membership structure. The Recreation Board reviewed the proposal and unanimously recommended council approval.
Councilman Mitchell asked about affordability options; staff said residents who cannot pay may use available payment arrangements and the centers can offer installment plans, while scholarships are not provided for nonresidents. The council adopted the resolution unanimously after no public comment.
The resolution instructs staff to implement the membership program for Jan. 1, 2026 and to publicize enrollment and program details to Alpharetta residents and prospective nonresidents.
