Committee members said the yellow curb on Stewart responds to a recent incident in which fire personnel had to ask vehicles to move because cars parked on both sides of the street made passage difficult for emergency responders. The curb change next to Odie's will convert a white curb marking used for loading to a yellow curb marking used for restricted parking.
Staff described the curb-painting change as a striping and signage adjustment; no new pavement or property acquisition was requested. The agenda item was filed as 19 O 08:25 and was approved as presented. Committee members noted the change is intended to reduce roadway obstruction at a narrow segment that had previously limited emergency vehicle access.
No formal amendments were made to the motion. The vote to approve the loading-zone replacement and the Stewart yellow-curb addition was recorded as 5-0. The committee moved on to separate crosswalk and sidewalk items after approving the curb and loading-zone changes.
