Alpharetta to install four Tesla DC fast chargers at police headquarters with Georgia Power support
Summary
Council approved purchase and service agreements with Tesla and installation agreements under Georgia Power’s make-ready program to install four DC fast chargers at police headquarters; chargers will serve the police fleet and be publicly available.
Alpharetta’s council on Sept. 8 approved purchase and service agreements with Tesla Inc. and related installation work to place four Tesla DC fast chargers at Police Headquarters.
Police leadership said the project is budgeted and aims to support the department’s EV fleet and future municipal EV acquisitions while also making public fast-charging infrastructure available inside Alpharetta city limits. Chief Lundgren (identified in the meeting as the presenting chief) said Georgia Power’s make-ready program would fund more than half of the project cost, reducing the city’s outlay and expanding public fast-charging availability.
Council voted unanimously to approve the purchase and installation agreements and authorize the mayor to execute the necessary documents.
