Alpharetta’s council voted Sept. 8 to award a $1,958,522.30 contract to Solve Construction LLC to build sidewalks on several corridors, including two AlphaLoop segments and a connector from Cricket Lane to the Clermont subdivision that includes a creek crossing.
Public Works staff said the project comprises three separate sidewalks: a continuation of a sidewalk from Cricket Lane to Clermont (including an eight-foot sidewalk and four-foot planting strip, plus a creek crossing and some utility pole relocations funded under the city’s franchise agreement), an AlphaLoop segment on Roswell Street linking to existing connections near the community center, and the Kingery Lane connection from Thompson Street to Old Milton Parkway on land owned by the city adjacent to the post office.
Staff noted six bidders submitted proposals and the low responsive bid was from Solve Construction. The project includes an estimated $150,000 for Georgia Power utility pole relocations as part of the streetscape work. Staff expects the three projects to take about 14 months to complete; the Bridal Street (Roswell Street) segment will begin first to coordinate with the Wills Park improvements.
Council approved the award unanimously and authorized the mayor to execute contract documents and utility-relocation funding.
