Tierra Dillard, director of the county 9-1-1 center, presented details on two awarded grants: a $150,000 Geospatial Services grant to update computers and servers and support accreditation work, and a $300,000 Public Safety Answering Point grant for shared call‑handling equipment to support a regional upgrade of call-handling technology. Dillard told the board neither grant requires a local match.
A supervisor moved to appropriate the total $450,000 to the 9-1-1 center; the motion passed unanimously (6-0). County staff said grant funding will be used for infrastructure improvements to the 9-1-1 center and for shared equipment serving participating regional centers. The awards were presented with background materials in the board packet, and the 9-1-1 director remained available for questions during the meeting.
