The Nantucket Conservation Commission approved a batch of orders of conditions and minor modifications at its Sept. 4 meeting, issuing permits and amendments for a range of residential and resource‑management projects.
Commissioners approved an order for 164 Hammock Pond Road permitting relocation of a shed and pool equipment and construction of a patio within the buffer zone to a bordering vegetated wetland; the order added lighting, planting and fertilizer restrictions. The commission also approved a separate order permitting invasive‑species management at the Milestone cranberry bog and applied standard monitoring and herbicide reporting conditions.
On minor modifications, the commission approved revised garage footprints and relocated septic tanks for Burbridge at 47 Quidnet Road and house updates for Pennant Realty, LLC at 5 Cascadia Course Way, both modifications consistent with previously issued orders. The commission also approved a minor modification for drainage work at a Balboa property that responds to a town policy prohibiting permanent connections from foundation drains to the municipal storm system; Commissioner Williams recused from that vote and others where noted. All motions carried by roll call where votes were recorded.
The approvals included standard conditions requiring photo monitoring where appropriate, annual reporting, and restoration plantings for disturbed sites. The commission closed the meeting after approving minutes from May 22, 2025, and setting routine follow‑up requirements for monitoring and certificate of compliance processes.
