Residents and partner agencies send multiple thank-you letters to officers

The Simsbury Police Commission read several letters from residents and partner agencies thanking individual officers for assistance and service. One resident thanked Officer Gamond for stopping to help when their vehicle broke down, "contacting the tow truck and allowing them to conduct their appointments," and called it "comforting to know we are protected by wonderful people like you." Another writer, following a DUI arrest, thanked Officer Kenny for being "so kind, professional, and courteous" during a difficult day. Sergeant Peck of the Fairfield Police Department sent thanks for Officer Chris Sheehan's work as a drill instructor for the Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Cadet Academy, calling Sheehan "a tremendous asset to the team" and praising the department's support for youth law enforcement education. A resident praised Sergeant Cushman for securing the scene and Officer Keeney for bringing gasoline to a motorist who ran out of gas in 90-degree weather, saying their actions "reflect the very best of law enforcement and community service." The commission recorded these letters as correspondence received. No formal personnel actions or commendation awards were taken at the meeting; the letters were entered into the record as correspondence.
