Parking staff reports mostly smooth permit renewals; pay-station rollout pending

During the commission's September meeting, Stacy, the town parking staff member, reported that permit renewals "officially ended yesterday" and that most permit holders renewed on time although several "stragglers" walked in a day late. "We got just about everybody... I can't say everybody because I got six people that walked in today, one day late," Stacy said.
Stacy said the town expects new parking pay-station machines and that the vendor initially scheduled delivery for the first week in September, but a concrete delivery date had not yet been confirmed. "The machines were supposed to be on their way first week in September, though I haven't got a concrete date exactly when they're gonna be delivered," Stacy said. Staff described an ongoing communication plan to notify businesses and permit holders once dates are firm.
Commissioners asked about repaving the Park Street lot. Stacy said she will invite municipal operations staff (referred to as "Tiger and Marie" in the meeting) to the October meeting for an update. The commission encouraged posting graphics and schedules online and using the town's alert channels to reduce surprise when changes occur.
Stacy also reported that summer is a busy period for enforcement and that September typically produces higher parking demand before activity slows later in the season. She said the town will continue outreach and signage checks and will coordinate with public works as needed.
No formal votes were taken on the administrative items during the meeting.
