The Riverview Community School District Board of Education accepted on first reading a set of amendments, additions and updates to its board bylaws, policies and administrative guidelines on July 22 following an audit by Miller Johnson.
Miller Johnson completed an audit and recommended changes to the district's Board of Education bylaws, policies and administrative guidelines. Superintendent Hatzel presented the recommendation that the board accept the proposed amendments as a first reading. The board accepted the materials for first reading and agreed to place further modification and updates on the agenda of the next regular meeting for second and third readings and final adoption.
Motion and vote: Vice President Matt Diminsky moved to accept the amendments for the purposes of a first reading; Treasurer Davis supported the motion. A roll call vote recorded unanimous approval among members present: President Tim Boer (yes), Vice President Matt Diminsky (yes), Treasurer Davis (yes), Trustee O'Brien (yes) and Trustee Toth (yes).
Next steps: The items will return for subsequent readings and final adoption at a future regular meeting; the board did not adopt final policy changes at this session.
