Riverview police promote Derek Gentry to lieutenant, Pam Parker to sergeant

Detective Sergeant Derek Gentry was first hired by the city on May 27, 2003, and served as a field training officer and as detective sergeant; he read the law-enforcement oath during the ceremony and thanked family and colleagues, saying, “Thank you to my family for being here.”
Officer Pam Parker began her career with the city on April 3, 2017; the chief noted she had served as a field training officer and honor guard member before being promoted to sergeant effective Feb. 10. Parker repeated the oath during the ceremony.
The council’s agenda then moved on to routine business. No formal votes were required for the ceremonial promotions; the council acknowledged the recognitions during the meeting.
