Approved minutes: The council approved minutes of the April 7 regular meeting and the April 14 special meeting and a condensed version for publication; motion carried by roll call.
Consent agenda and special events: The council approved a set of consent items including presentation of the certified special assessment district tax roll (filed with the clerk), special-events permits for GracePointe Church’s night market (June 7) and a National Day of Prayer event (May 1) at Young Patriots Park, authorization of agreements for Riverview Baseball Softball Association use of ball diamonds and concessions, and extension addenda for Atmos Technologies and KSM Solutions for odor-control supplies and equipment. Council members emphasized that the events and partner organizations are community partners and that city oversight helps with traffic and safety planning.
Vehicle purchase: The council approved a cooperative bid purchase of a 2024 Ford F-250 4x4 pickup from Tigorno Ford for $62,269.
Waive purchasing manual: Council voted to waive Section 13 of the purchasing manual (motion made by Councilman Pray, supported by Councilman Webb) by roll call.
Closed session and legal strategy: The council recessed to a closed session to discuss pending litigation with legal counsel pursuant to MCL 15.268(1)(c).
