The City of Coldwater Board of Public Utilities voted to award the construction contract for the 13 J 4 circuit, an expansion tied to Clemens’ recent facility growth, to CC Power for $100,208. Staff said the contractor bid was the low construction bid and that material costs are separate and estimated at $180,000.
Andrew (presenting) described the project as “phase 2” tied to capacity and reliability improvements serving the Clemens expansion. He said phase 1 (13 J 3) was completed in 2023 and that 13 J 4 will be a 13.8 kV, 900 A rated circuit built parallel to the existing line along Fisk Road. “The low bidder being CC Power, at a cost of a $100,208,” he said, and noted the $100,208 covers only construction; the engineer’s estimate places materials at about $180,000.
Staff told the board Coldwater will initially pay for construction and materials but Clemens will reimburse the city as it did for the first phase. Board members had no questions; a motion to approve the construction contract was made and approved by voice vote.
Staff said material bids and final staking sheets remain to be finalized and that the materials bid will likely be brought back to the board in a subsequent meeting.
