Tibbetts Theater reports busy season, rental and housing needs, and spring programming

Christine provided the DDA with an update on activities at Tibbetts theater, describing a busy rental season and several upcoming in-house events and needs.
She said the theater recently hosted Coldwater Community Schools’ production of Lightning Thief and will host the Quincy Drama Society’s Newsies. Tibbetts plans a Comedy Fest on March 15 headlined by John Heffern and sponsored by Hawes Caywood; the theater is also programming family movie nights (including a Detective Pikachu event with a pizza party) and a movie series focusing on "so bad they’re good" films.
Christine said Tibbetts prints 20,000 playbills per season, mails about 15,000–16,000 and distributes the rest at events. Summer theater season is a 10-week run that requires housing for performers; Tibbetts staff requested homeowner hosts provide a clean bedroom, bath and kitchen access for stays that may last three, six or ten weeks. The theater has ad space available in the season playbill and encourages businesses to reserve space.
No board action was requested; the update concluded with staff offering ways for board members to support Tibbetts through housing hosts, sponsorships and advertising.
