Coldwater council approves community center lease amendment, reaffirms master plan and pays $151,109 in bills

City Manager Keith told the council the amendment would modify the lease (Agreement A24Dash18) so the community center takes over utilities on April 30, 2025, instead of the November 2024 date in the existing lease. “We are amending the lease … to change the date … to 04/30/2025,” City Manager Keith said.
The council voted by roll call on the lease amendment, recorded as Resolution 24-91. Council member Mackin, Council member Kanak, Council member Howitz, Council member Hazelbeger, Council member Petzko, Council member Beckwith and Mayor Kramer were recorded as voting yes; Council members Rispin and Johnson were absent. The motion carried.
Council later considered a request to reaffirm the city’s current master plan, adopted in February 2017, while staff and a consultant work on a new master plan and seek Redevelopment Ready Certification. A council member moved to adopt Resolution 25-02; the council approved the resolution by voice vote. No roll-call votes were recorded for that motion.
