Fraser First Booster Club waits on council decision for Stephens Park reimagining, launches local fundraiser

"We're kinda in a limbo because we're waiting for the decision of councils to what to do next with Stephens Park," Epps said. The club holds its next meeting July 16 and is running an “eat local, shop local” campaign tied to a raffle that accepts receipts through July 31.
Epps described the raffle process and noted the club will not use collected phone numbers for marketing. “We are not using the numbers the phone numbers for marketing. It's strictly for contacting the winners,” she said. The club plans a drawing around 5 p.m. on July 31 and typically does it at Grama Horn.
Epps also thanked the Hanover Grove Cooperative for meeting space and said the Fraser First Booster Club will be the recipient organization for a polar plunge fundraiser connected to the Stephens Park reimagine project. No formal action or funding decisions were taken by the Recreation Commission at the July 1 meeting; the Booster Club’s requests were informational and focused on volunteer and donor outreach.
The commission did not set a timeline for a final decision on Stephens Park; Epps and other volunteers will continue fundraising and outreach while awaiting council direction.
