Fraser Recreation Commission elects officers, previews summer events and senior programs

The Fraser Recreation Commission elected Commissioner Pepcic as chair and Chris Cook as vice chair at its June 3 meeting and reviewed a slate of summer events, volunteer projects and senior programs that organizers say will begin in June and continue through August. The meeting was held at Fraser City Hall and adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
The nominations occurred under the commission’s bylaws: "the Recreation Commission is supposed to elect their officers in the month of June each year under article 4 section 1," the presiding chair said during the meeting. Commissioner Pepcic accepted the nomination for chair; Chris Cook accepted the nomination for vice chair; Echo Hunt accepted the nomination to serve as secretary. The commission deemed the nominees to their offices after no other nominations were offered.
The commission approved routine business before the elections. A motion to excuse Commissioners Rustelli, Walker and Rice was moved by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Hunter and carried.
