The Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee on Sept. 11 authorized Mayor Harry W. Rilling to enter into an agreement allowing Wolfpit PTA to use the Wolfpit Elementary School field and immediate surrounding grounds for a pumpkin festival on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with setup permitted starting at 8 a.m. and teardown by 8 p.m.
Committee Chair Miss Young said the item was moved by Mr. Sutton and that there were no members of the public on the line to comment. A Parks Department staff member said the festival is an annual fall event that draws primarily parents and students and estimated an attendance of about 500 people.
The committee voted to approve the authorization; all members present voted in favor. The meeting record includes no public participants and no conditions attached to the authorization.
The approval allows the PTA to proceed with event planning under the terms of the city agreement; the transcript does not specify insurance, security, or indemnification requirements, nor does it list an account or contract number for this use.
