Paper-street purchase applications referred to Community Development; kept in committee until September

The Legal Affairs Committee on Aug. 19 voted unanimously to refer applications for purchase of city-owned paper streets on Mechanic Street and Vine to the Community Development Department for recommendation and to retain the matter in subcommittee until the first meeting in September.
Chair and staff noted there was currently no Community Development recommendation in the packet. Attorney Kelty confirmed Community Development would review the title and provide comments; the chair indicated the committee's next meeting was expected in early September. Councilor Melville moved that the matter be referred to Community Development and kept in committee; the motion passed on a roll-call vote of 5-0.
Next steps: Community Development will prepare a recommendation and return the matter to the Legal Affairs Committee at the September meeting.
