The PVD City Council Finance Committee approved a transfer to cover parking meter software services after staff reported software cost overages for the city’s new meter enforcement system. Councilor Gould moved the transfer and the committee approved the motion by a 5-0 roll call.
Gingras said that when all invoices for the new enforcement and metering system arrived, there was an overage that should be paid from the parking meter reserve account. Councilor Gould moved to transfer $33,500 from parking meter reserves (account number 27000033001), including $23,500 to parking meter software services (account number 10048005417). The motion carried 5 to 0 on roll call.
Councilor Turco asked procedural questions earlier in the meeting about overtime transfers; no councilor raised substantive objections to funding the software from reserves. The committee did not adopt any ordinance changes; the action was a transfer from the specified reserve account to the software-services account.
