The petitioner argued the lot’s shape and limited depth create practical hardships. Board members questioned the orientation and aesthetic effect of placing a house rotated so that a primary entrance would face a neighboring house and the street in an atypical way for the neighborhood. Several board members said they could not support the proposed design and recommended the petitioner consider other house types that better fit the lot.
A motion to grant the variances failed; the clerk recorded a roll call with Miss Delaney, James Sweeney, Monique Screenberry, Fire Chief Brian Nadelli and Chair Kenneth Galligan voting no. The board announced the petition was denied.
