County renews contract for school-based prevention and amends NORC agreement to continue federal grant work
Summary
Wasco County approved renewal of a contract with Comprehensive Family Counseling to continue school-based prevention programming and authorized a first amendment to a grant-backed agreement with NORC to support youth screening and SBIRT work.
The Wasco County Board of Commissioners approved two social‑services contract items Aug. 20 to sustain prevention and data work with school-aged youth.
Debbie Jones presented a renewal of a personal‑services contract with Comprehensive Family Counseling to continue a school‑based prevention program in the Dallas area; she said the city contributes funds and county grant carryover funds will support the program continuation. The board voted to approve the contract unanimously.
Jones also presented a first amendment to an existing agreement with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC). Jones said the amendment uses carryover federal grant funds to expand NORC’s data and evaluation work and noted NORC was invited to present the county’s youth‑screening results at an international SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) conference in San Francisco. Commissioners approved the amendment by motion and unanimous vote.
