Talent Business Alliance proposes ‘Gateway Hub’ incubator, asks council to require public benefit in Gateway commercial space

Anna Zedekstrand, a Talent resident, longtime local business owner and board member of the Talent Business Alliance, presented a plan April 16 for a mixed-use business incubator called the Gateway Hub and asked the Talent Urban Renewal Agency and Talent City Council to adopt language directing that the Gateway commercial space include a “reasonably proportionate” public‑benefit use.

The Gateway Hub concept, as presented by Zedekstrand, would combine a business incubation program (Upstart Talent), an indoor/outdoor customer market (Valley View Market), a shared commercial kitchen (LaunchLab) and a culinary education center (Seasoned Learning). “We are asking for language to that effect to be adopted in regular session,” Zedekstrand told the joint study session, asking staff to include public‑benefit requirements in future RFP language for the Gateway site.
