City staff clarifies downtown transportation SDC reduction, not full waiver

The staff member said there have been no conversations about eliminating the reduction and that other SDC components in the area remain in effect.
Council members had been surprised by earlier remarks suggesting SDCs were waived downtown. The staff explanation was intended to clarify that only the transportation SDC is reduced and to underscore that there was no plan at the time of the meeting to change that methodology.
Staff did not present an ordinance or a schedule for modifying SDC methodology during the meeting; any future change would require formal council action under the city’s established procedures.
