Strongsville City Council on June 2 adopted Ordinance No. 2025-66 to authorize the administration to purchase desktop and laptop computers, monitors and related equipment through Ohio Department of Administrative Services contracts, using CDW Government LLC as the vendor, with a total not to exceed $240,425.
Councilmember Kozick, speaking for Communications and Technology, said the purchase would upgrade city computers and asked the council to suspend and adopt the ordinance so staff could proceed. "This is to authorize the purchase of desktop computers, laptop computers, monitors, and various other devices that relate to those city computers," Kozick said, adding the total amount would not exceed $240,425 and that the purchases would use state contracts to obtain the best pricing.
Councilmember Carbone moved to suspend the rules and adopt the ordinance; Councilmember Kaminski seconded. A roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval from the members present, and the ordinance was adopted under emergency procedures.
The ordinance authorizes the mayor to enter into agreements necessary to complete the purchases. Council did not discuss specific recipients or departments for individual devices during the public meeting; the Communications and Technology director was identified as the responsible official to manage the upgrades.
