The motion passed on a roll call vote with all present aldermen voting aye. Mayor Rockingham and staff invited the community to the Sheridan Crossing remediation kickoff at Martin Luther King Drive and Sheridan Road on Friday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. Staff described the award as a step to remove contamination from the site and create a “clean canvas” for future redevelopment; the mayor said the site cleanup is a collaboration with Lake County. No amendments to the award were recorded at the meeting. The city will coordinate cleanup work and community outreach ahead of subsequent planning and redevelopment decisions for the Sheridan Crossing parcel.
