A Mundelein resident asked the village for an update on the Ivanhoe development, which had received media attention earlier in the year. The resident said, “I would like to know what's happening with the Ivanhoe development. It seemed like it was it was heating up. There was a lot of publicity. Now it's sort of gone dead. I haven't heard anything.”
A village staff member replied that discussions with the developer and other agencies, including the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Lake County Department of Transportation, are continuing and that “there's still a lot of documentation and, agreements that have to be finalized. I wouldn't expect any more, activity, for the next several months, and there probably won't be shovels in the ground until sometime later next year.”
The staff member also confirmed that multiple outside agencies are involved in the project's review and said the village is coordinating with those agencies on required agreements and documentation. No new timeline or permit decision was given at the June 23 meeting.
