MUNDELEIN, Ill. — The Mundelein Village Board approved a series of purchase orders and waivers of competitive bidding to acquire public-works and police vehicles, an ambulance, and related outfitting and equipment.
Trustees adopted multiple resolutions and purchase orders, including a $336,955 purchase order to Foster Coach Sales Inc. for an ambulance, a $255,451.34 set of purchase orders to Sutton Ford for public-works vehicles, a $104,998 purchase order to Rush Truck Center for public-works vehicles, and a $133,186 set of purchase orders to Curry Motors for police vehicles. The board also approved a $67,000 purchase order to Midwest Meter for fiscal year 2026 equipment and a $24,860 purchase order to EDI (Environmental Dynamics International) for replacement flex-air diffusers. Many of the vendor names and amounts were read individually on the record.
Trustees and staff emphasized the purchases were budgeted and part of routine fleet replacement and outfitting. The board’s roll calls on the motions repeatedly recorded unanimous or broadly affirmative votes. Trustee Lambert introduced and moved many of the procurement resolutions; Trustee Rico, Trustee Juarez and others seconded or joined votes throughout the sequence.
During discussion, the board clarified that the listed amounts covered vehicle purchases and the necessary outfitting — lights, sirens, cameras and other specialized equipment — and that the annual procurement and outfitting process is comprehensive and budgeted. Trustees and staff said the purchases will proceed under purchase orders and vendor agreements authorized at the meeting.
The approvals cover the current fiscal year procurement plan for public-works and public-safety fleets and associated equipment; staff will finalize purchase orders and scheduling with vendors.
