Council unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Tracy Allen, housing rehabilitation administrator, for responding to a life‑threatening medical emergency while conducting a home visit.
The resolution, read at the meeting, recounted that on Aug. 13 Allen was consulting on a home rehabilitation when neighbors called for help. Allen found a resident unresponsive and, using prior first‑aid training, assessed the person, checked vitals and directed another individual to call 911 while attempting resuscitation and stabilizing the scene until first responders arrived.
Councilmembers praised Allen's actions and several asked whether first‑aid training is offered more broadly to city employees; members requested that administration consider expanding training for staff who are frequently in the field. Allen thanked the council and credited first responders and coworkers for their support.
The resolution passed unanimously.
