The county administrator introduced the request and said a working group — including the sheriff and the Commonwealth’s attorney — met with 10 7 Farms’ representative Joanna Carter to review program details and recommend that the Board release the funds.
Joanna Carter described the proposed use as funding for recovery‑related services and staffing. She said her organization had trained 15 local workers who are licensed and ready to provide services in the county. Sheriff Moser and Commonwealth’s Attorney Ben Hite provided supporting correspondence to the board, which staff included in the meeting packet.
A motion to approve the $30,000 carried with a voice vote. County staff said the funds were already included in the adopted budget and would not require additional appropriation from fund balance. The board asked staff to monitor program performance and outcomes as the organization delivers services.
