District reports declining vacancies but still lists about 9.5 unfilled positions as school year opens

"As of July 16, the vacancy notices we had 49 total open positions," HR Director Tiff Gunter said; she summarized earlier monthly counts of 71 open positions in April, 81 in May, 71 in June, 49 in July and 43 as of Aug. 1.
Gunter told the board the district recorded 51 total separations for the 2024–25 school year (44 resignations and seven retirements).
