Council approves drainage easements, storm-sewer agreements and land-combination requests tied to Cobalt development

The Common Council approved a series of drainage and storm-sewer easement agreements and a certified survey map connected to properties owned or managed by entities doing business as Cobalt Partners/Cobalt Loomis. Council voted to accept an assignment of a drainage easement and related rights from Cobalt entities, approve turf/skateboard-park storm-sewer easements, and approve a park-and-ride lot storm-sewer easement on vacant lands in the 4200 block of West Loomis Road. The council also approved a certified survey map to combine multiple lots (4205, 4239 and 4253 West Loomis) as part of the broader development process. City staff said the agreements facilitate stormwater management and future infrastructure needed for redevelopment in the area, and that the developer has agreed to participate in cost-sharing for certain drainage improvements. Council members said the measures will support future flood mitigation and site work; votes on the items were recorded in favor by the council.
