Staff orders tabletop microphone after viewers reported meeting audio was hard to hear

A staff member announced during the regular session that the county has ordered a small tabletop microphone to improve audio after viewers reported they could not hear meeting videos. "I have ordered it's like a little microphone speaker thing...I tried to quickly set it up for this meeting, and then I need more time. I couldn't get it set up that fast," the staff member said. The staff member said the device "just sits up on the table" and "it has, like, 2 ports" and that it is intended to better pick up voices. The meeting moderator also joked about alternatives, saying, "Or you guys can just talk louder." Officials said they expect future meetings to use the microphone so remote viewers can hear speakers more reliably.
