The Lawrence Licensing Board tabled two items to its next meeting on Sept. 10.
A one‑day alcohol application from the Portuguese American Holy Ghost fraternity (Zachary Francisco listed on the agenda) was held because a representative did not attend. The board tabled the fraternity’s application to allow the applicant to appear at the next meeting.
The board also tabled a liquor license application for Madre Cuisine at 431–435 Estes Street after staff noted the required public advertisement in the newspaper had not been completed. The applicant will appear on the Sept. 10 agenda once the advertisement and related paperwork are submitted.
Commissioner Laird moved to table Madre Cuisine and Commissioner Morales seconded; the motions to table were approved by the board. The board recorded the next licensing board meeting date as Sept. 10.
