Administration proposes small ARPA‑funded adjustment to Hilliard loading area; civic rental contract for Tiny Town noted

Facilities staff asked the board to approve a small additional use of remaining county ARPA funds—approximately $30,000—to reopen a loading area and address a minor drainage concern behind a recently renovated portion of the Hilliard building. The facilities presenter said the building's central addition left the loading dock aisle constrained and that removing the remaining curb work would restore truck access and resolve potential drainage problems before they worsen.
"What this remaining 30,000 does is it opens up that area, allows for the trucks to be able to get in and out. That also allows for the stormwater drainage to reach the intended purpose," a staff member said. The presenter said a full plan and diagram will be provided at the end of the month and that no immediate vote was required at the meeting.
In a separate consent/contract note, staff said Parents as Teachers will request a standard Civic Arena rental for its Tiny Town event; the presenter said the event occurs annually and that the contract is the familiar one used each year, with the only change being the fee. Staff encouraged board members to attend the community event.
No formal votes were taken on the ARPA scope change or the Tiny Town contract during the discussion; staff will bring a diagram and a formal contract for board action at the next meeting.
