Stevensville — An airport update provided to the Stevensville Town Council on Aug. 14 noted receipt of an FAA grant offer letter for a fuel tank project, progress on AWOS inspections and recent fuel sales.
Council member Smith read the airport report into the record. Smith said the airport received the FAA grant offer letter for the fuel tank fabrication and that, once grant funds are released, fabrication can begin. The council has not yet received a separate FAA grant offer for an asphalt maintenance project, Smith said. Smith reported the second of three annual AWOS inspections took place on Tuesday and that, as of the writing of the report, the airport sold about 3,500 gallons of fuel (about $20,000 in sales) and took delivery of 5,000 gallons on Aug. 8.
Smith also reported that the airport had received all but five lease payments for the new fiscal year. A broken taxi light was discovered and parts have been ordered.
No action was taken by the council on the airport report; the airport report was included in the meeting packet.
