Resident says town hall closed without notice, raises complaint about employee conduct

Sue also complained about online comments by Stephen Lassiter, saying Council member Smith reminded Lassiter that he had signed a conduct contract when employed and that Lassiter replied in a manner she characterized as “extremely condescending” and later said, quote, “careful where I take that,” which she described as a threat. Sue said she had sent a letter to the mayor and asked the council to act to correct the employee’s behavior.
The remarks came during the public-comment portion of the special meeting and were not followed in the transcript by a formal council response or a recorded council action related to the complaint.
Sue requested that the council ensure future closures are publicly announced and that the reported online conduct by an employee be addressed. The council did not record any formal motion or vote in the meeting minutes attached to this comment.
