Stevensville — The Stevensville Town Council on Aug. 14 moved to approve Kiki as the town’s city court prosecutor and directed staff to bring her contract back to the Aug. 28 meeting for final approval.
Council member Parker made the motion to approve Kiki as the Stevensville city court prosecutor; Council member Gray seconded the motion. Kiki addressed the council and described her legal background: she graduated from the University of Montana Law School in 2022, passed the Montana bar in February 2023 and has worked for two years at the Valley County Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor and DUI cases. Kiki said she intends to keep her full-time position and serve Stevensville part time, and that preliminary scheduling indicates court hearings occur about twice a month during the day.
Council members asked no follow-up questions about qualifications. The council and mayor intend to finalize a contract at the Aug. 28 meeting; council members discussed a hoped-for start date around Sept. 1.
The council did not discuss salary changes at the Aug. 14 meeting beyond noting that Kiki’s requested pay matches the current prosecutor’s pay.
