Board delegates authority to county administrator to execute opioid settlement agreements

County leadership said delegation is intended to speed administrative processing of relatively small settlements while preserving board oversight on the use of proceeds, which remains governed by the original settlement exhibit (Exhibit E) and local allocation rules.
Supervisor Schubert asked how long settlements and administration might continue; county staff said additional years of such administration are possible and payments may be structured over many years for some defendants. The board motion authorizes the administrator to sign settlement documents and return reports to the board for transparency on receipts and allocations.
