The town had previously adopted the county’s memorandum of agreement for the initial settlement wave; the supplemental agreements before the board follow the same structure and flow funds through the county’s advisory processes.
Commissioners asked whether the town was prepared to receive and apply for funds directed toward prevention, intervention and treatment. One commissioner urged the creation of a local community advisory board so the town would be prepared to apply for money and to engage citizen members; staff said Wake County has the disbursement role under the agreement but the town could create its own advisory body at any time.
The consent motion to accept the supplemental agreements passed.
