District staff thanked the Palm Springs Police Department and said staff met with police to negotiate terms. A board member praised staff flexibility and the department’s willingness to work with the district: "I just wanna commend and thank our staff for taking this issue on and going and meeting with the Palm Springs Police Department, and I wanna thank them for being very flexible in working with us," the board member said.

The board moved and approved the amendment during the action agenda (item 15h). Board members confirmed that other SRO contracts in the district are also two‑year contracts.
