The Waukee City Council approved an ordinance amending Chapter 65 of the municipal code governing stop and yield requirements, including changes to the intersection of Northeast Douglas Parkway and Northeast Cascade Drive, the council recorded at its Aug. 4 meeting. Staff said portable message signs will be deployed on Douglas Parkway the following day to notify motorists of the traffic control change. Staff reminded the council that waiving the third reading required four of five votes; the council moved to approve the second reading, waive the third reading and place the ordinance on final passage. Council members voted in the affirmative. Staff said the amendment involves the city’s traffic control plan at the specified intersection; no public comment was recorded during the meeting on this ordinance item.
