Ryan Russell, government affairs and grants, told the Green River City Council that construction work at Riverside Memorial Park is under way and that the city requested a short timeline extension for a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant. Russell said the amendment extends the grant timeline by one year to allow for weather or other delays and to ensure the grant can be closed out properly.
Councilman Byrd moved to approve the LWCF grant agreement amendment with the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The council did not attach conditions to the approval during the meeting.
Russell said construction is ongoing and visible at the site. No new funding amounts were discussed during the council presentation; the amendment was described as a schedule modification rather than an increase in grant dollars.
The council’s action was limited to approving the timeline amendment; staff did not request additional appropriations or substantive changes to project scope at the meeting. The amendment allows staff additional time to complete construction and close out the LWCF grant.
