The district's IT director gave a biannual technology update, saying summer work included updating student and staff devices, replacing damaged music-room speakers, and completing a phone‑system software upgrade that now sends voicemail to email.
"We have over 3,000 devices between the switches and cameras... every teacher has 2 devices and every student has 1," the IT director said, noting the scale of summer work. The director said the district has been upgrading machines because Windows 10 reached end of life and reported the phone upgrade was seamless: "We upgraded our phone system... voicemail goes to their email." Replacement speakers in music rooms were also repaired.
The director raised a separate operational issue: some parents have not completed online registration forms required to generate a WISE ID, which the director said prevents a student from being added to district systems and programs. "Without them filling out the paperwork, I don't get a Wiser ID. If I don't have a Wiser ID, they don't get an account in the district... they basically don't exist," the director said. The director asked the board to consider revising admission policy or messaging to parents to ensure timely completion of online forms.
Board members agreed to consider the request; the director suggested the board could look at admissions policy language to require or better communicate the steps parents must complete for enrollment.
