Facilities staff updated the board on maintenance needs, projects and the district's annual facility plan submission.
The facilities presenter said maintenance work in Pine Bluffs has been challenging, citing sprinkler-system repairs and piecemeal infrastructure issues. "Maintenance wise, we are struggling with some grounds work in Pine Bluffs... Sprinkler systems... it's just a struggle," the presenter said. The music room projects in two buildings were reported as finishing shortly and covered by an upcoming bill.
Planned projects mentioned included a privacy wall in a modular conference room at Burns High School and a larger lighting-improvement project at Alvin Elementary planned for late winter or spring. The presenter said the district's facility plan will be submitted to the Department of Education this fall; the presenter is due to present to the department on Oct. 29.
Board members asked no substantive follow-up questions in the public record; staff said work will continue and costs will be billed in upcoming invoices.
