Summary
Trustees planned a retreat that will include a data review following statewide testing, public input on the district strategic plan gathered at town halls, a discussion of the superintendent evaluation tool and an optional University of Wyoming campus tour.
At a Sept. 3 work session, the Blerney County School District No. 2 Committee of the Whole set topics for an upcoming board retreat that will include a district data review after statewide testing, discussion of the district's strategic plan, and a review of the superintendent evaluation tool. Trustees also discussed an optional tour of the University of Wyoming campus during the retreat.
The chair said the strategic plan and data review had been presented at town halls and that the board had sought stakeholder input in those sessions. Trustees said the retreat will include separate sessions: a board-only meeting late Thursday afternoon followed by an administrative session Friday so administrators can join the conversation. The chair asked staff to schedule the retreat to avoid conflicts with local homecoming parades and events.
Trustees also asked that professional development activities and PLC achievements be presented at a future board meeting to give the full board a "30,000-foot" view of district instructional work. No formal actions were taken; the retreat schedule and agenda items will be finalized at future meetings.
