District administrators showed a month‑by‑month calendar for board updates on the district strategic priorities and said they will bring a formal motion later this month to move the five‑year strategic planend date from June 2030 to October 2030. "Every August is an opportunity for us to come together and take a look at the year ahead," staff presenter David Johns told the board as he walked through a calendar that schedules a substantive focus on one priority area per month from September through July and reserves August for plan review. Johns said the calendar was designed so board updates align with the most timely data available, including four scheduled academic updates during the school year. He said the May academic update was intentionally placed to allow presentation of end‑of‑year screener data that provides the closest predictive information to statewide exam results, even though statewide results would not yet be available. Johns also described a standardized board memo and a dashboard staff will use to make presentations consistent across priority areas. "The dashboard really will be central to these presentations," he said, noting that supporting materials not in the dashboard will be provided in advance. Board members asked how the presentations would treat multiple goals under a priority area. Student representative Paige, introduced at the meeting, did not ask questions about the calendar. Johns said the district will address all goals across the series of updates and will connect strategic actions to the goals. Johns closed by saying he will ask the board later this month to approve a technical modification to the published plan that sets the planend date to October 2030 rather than June 2030 so the plan includes five full academic years of data. He said the change is intended to allow "that last time stamped primarily academic data report that gives us full five full years of taking strategic action toward those five year goals."
