Trustees voted unanimously to award a contract to Clover Construction for up to $73,435 to replace a leaking section of water main and an associated valve vault at Braeburn and Saunders Road. Director of Community Services Patrick Witt (title used in transcript) told trustees the project was bid to seven contractors; two submitted bids and the low bidder was Clover Construction, which had previously repaired the final leak and therefore understood site constraints. Witt said the village wants the work completed in August to avoid overlap with a separate State Transportation Project (STP) on Saunders Road. Trustee Smith asked about a five-percent late fee included in the contractor’s proposal; the village attorney (unnamed) replied staff would ensure the contract terms comply with the Prompt Payment Act before signatures. A motion to accept Clover Construction’s bid was made and seconded; the board approved on a roll call with Trustees Jamerson, Raff, Smith, Trevino and Clayton voting aye. The contract award covers replacement of the pipe, valve and associated vault and authorizes village staff to finalize terms consistent with applicable payment laws. No project start date was specified at the meeting.
